Prof. Dr. Dr. h.c. Markus W. Büchler is a surgical expert for diseases of the abdominal organs, especially the pancreas, for which he himself has developed several surgical techniques. He works as a consultant at the Swiss Pancreas Institute. He also makes a major contribution to science and has been awarded several honorary professorships and doctorates worldwide for this. Büchler is co-author of more than 2,700 publications and has been cited around 90,000 times.
